Israel military to demolish anti-occupation shooter’s family home

Eng389TULKAREM (PNIC):-Israeli forces stormed the Shweika village in the northern occupied West Bank district of Tulkarem, on Monday, and informed the Naawla family of their intention to demolish their home as a punishment for their son carrying out a shooting attack against Israelis.

Israeli forces gave the Naawla family until Thursday to appeal the demolition order.

The family's son, Ashraf Naawla, 23, had carried out a shooting attack in the Barkan industrial area last week, in which two Israeli settlers died and another sustained serious injuries.

Israeli forces are still conducting wide-scale searches for Ashraf, who fled the scene following the shooting attack. In addition, all of his family members were detained and their home was repeatedly raided throughout the past eight days.

Israel always demolishes family homes of Palestinians, who were involved in attacking Israelis as part of its collective punishment policy against the Palestinian people.

Israel has come under harsh condemnation over the past several years for its response to attacks committed by Palestinians on Israelis, which rights groups have said amounted to "collective punishment" on family members and entire communities in a clear violation of international law.
