497 children and 3000 Palestinians detains by IOF in first half of 2018

Noor24RAMALLAH (PNIC):-The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) rounded up more than 3000 Palestinians during the first half of 2018, rights sources revealed.

Palestine center for prisoners affairs said that 497 children and 84 women were among the reported arrests.

180 Gazans were also arrested during the same reported period, dozens of them were fishermen.

Four prisoners were dead in Israeli jails since the start of the year, raising the number of deaths of Palestinian prisoners to 216.

 The sources pointed out that 505 administrative detention orders were issued since the beginning of the year against Palestinians, including 199 new and the rest were renewals.

Around 6500 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons on charges of resisting the occupation. Of this figure, 54 are women, among them six under the age of 18, 350 children and 430 held in administrative detention, in addition to 1800 sick prisoners.
