Gaza9Aug2RAMALLAH (PNIC):-Palestinian Journalists Syndicate on Sunday staged a protest in solidarity with Palestinian journalists detained in Israeli jails.

Organized in front of Ofer jail west of Ramallah, the protest was attended by members of the syndicate, families of detained journalists and a number of national notables.

The protesters raised Palestinian flags and chanted slogans supporting the journalists who were recently arrested by the Israeli forces: Mohammed Mona, Alaa Rimawi, Husni Injas, Mohammed Ilwan, Qutaiba Hamdan and Lama Khater.

The syndicate and the detainees' families called on Israel to immediately release the journalists, saying that they were detained because they expose the Israeli crimes to the world.

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday arrested Quds Press agency's reporter Mohammed Mona after raiding his house west of Nablus.

Lama Khater is a journalist and a writer who was kidnapped from her house at dawn, while the rest of the detainees work for al-Quds TV channel.

There are 21 Palestinian journalists in Israeli lock-ups. Most of them are held without charge or trial.
