Gaza22Mar6DOHA (PNIC):-Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership to stop its security forces from persecuting and arresting university students in the West Bank and to order the immediate release of those detained.

“The Palestinian authority and its security apparatuses are supposed to protect and sponsor any effort serving the Palestinian cause, take care of the needs of [university] students, and release their grip on freedoms instead of carrying out arrests and chases that only serve our enemy,” Badran stated in a press release on Tuesday.

The Hamas official affirmed that the Palestinian Authority’s persistence in its politically motivated arrest and persecution campaigns against West Bank citizens debunks its claims about rejecting and confronting the US-backed “Deal of the Century” conspiracy.

He added that the only way to confront this deal is through ending the security collaboration with the Israeli occupation state and giving the citizens in the West Bank a free hand to resist the occupation and its schemes.
