Child shot by Israeli soldier succumbs to injury: Gaza

Bulk244GAZA (PNIC):-A Palestinian child died on Saturday evening of a serious bullet injury he sustained during his participation in the March of Return protest that was staged the day before in a border area southeast of the Gaza Strip.

According to a spokesman for the Palestinian health ministry, 15-year-old Jamal Afana succumbed to a bullet injury after he was rushed to a hospital from Rafah area on Friday.

An Israeli soldier shot him in the head during a Friday protest held east of Rafah.

His death has raised the number of protesters killed by Israeli soldiers during their participation in March of Return protests in Gaza border areas to 55 citizens, including seven children.

About 9,000 citizens have also suffered different injuries during the same weekly protests.
