E-mail Print PDF

Gaza8Jan2OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PNIC):-Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem stressed the adherence of the Palestinian people to Occupied Jerusalem, saying that Palestinians will never renounce the holy city. He reiterated the Palestinian refusal of any Israeli-American moves in this regard.

In a statement that followed a meeting on Saturday, the council said that the international laws related to occupied territories are applicable on Jerusalem as being an occupied city. These regulations oblige Israeli authorities not to change the status quo in occupied territories.

The statement affirmed that any measures or laws taken by Israeli authorities against the sacred city are null and void, according to UNESCO.

The Council also pointed out that the Israeli Knesset resolution on “Greater Jerusalem” is invalid and contradicts international laws. As for settlement, the statement stressed that settlement activities are illegal and illegitimate and the attempts to legitimize it are unacceptable, .
