Gaza4Oct2GAZA (PNIC):-Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has expressed his satisfaction with the prevailing positive atmosphere in the Cairo talks between his Movement and Fatah, applauding Egypt’s role in sponsoring the meetings.

This came in a press release issued by Haneyya’s office after he received a phone call on Tuesday evening from head of the Hamas delegation to Cairo talks Saleh al-Aruri, deputy chief of the political bureau.

During the phone conversation, Haneyya was put in the picture of what had been tabled on the first day of the talks with the Fatah delegation in Cairo.

Haneyya reiterated Hamas’s position on the need to end the national division and consolidate the principles of political partnership and pluralism, and electoral democracy.

According to Haneyya’s office, a positive atmosphere prevailed in the first session of the talks that were held away from the media for 10 hours between Hamas and Fatah officials in Cairo.

The participants discussed a number of issues related to the national reconciliation, especially the population’s living conditions in the Gaza Strip.
