Gaza16June4WEST BANK (PNIC):-The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) detained at dawn Monday at least 12 Palestinians in military raids across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

The Israeli army claimed that 12 “wanted” Palestinians were detained for being allegedly involved in anti-occupation activities.

Two Palestinians were arrested east of Nablus while two others were rounded up in al-Bireh city, in addition to one detainee north of occupied Jerusalem, the sources said.

Six more arrests were carried out in Bethlehem, while a young man was detained from his house after IOF stormed Deir Samet town, south of al-Khalil.

Overnight raids were also reported in different towns and villages of al-Khalil which led to the outbreak of violent clashes. Teargas bombs and rubber bullets were heavily used during the confrontation. A local young man was slightly injured while no arrests were reported.

Also in al-Khalil, IOF erected a number of checkpoints at the entrance to Samu town where several Palestinian vehicles were stopped and searched.

Along the same line, IOF arrested a female journalist while crossing a military checkpoint erected near the Ibrahimi mosque and an ex-prisoner after being summoned for investigation.

Similar raids were reported in Qalqilia where a young man was violently arrested from his house early today.

Meanwhile, two youths were detained from their family houses in Salem town, east of Nablus, after nearly twenty military vehicles stormed the town and broke into a number of local houses.

Another youngster, from Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, was arrested at Salem military court.
